At SHĀPU, we offer a carefully curated selection of handcrafted knives and kitchen tools, with a primary focus on Japanese knives, sourced directly from Japan for their exceptional craftsmanship, performance, and character.

In addition to our Japanese collection, we also feature outstanding knives from other countries, selected for their quality, heritage, and unique contributions to the craft.

Beyond cutlery, you’ll find kitchen utensils, cookware, and a select pantry section showcasing exceptional ingredients and tools to elevate your cooking experience.

Please note: Product descriptions, photos, and specifications are provided to guide your selection, but slight variations may occur. Many of our items are handmade and one-of-a-kind.

All prices are listed in euros (€) and include VAT. Shipping costs are not included and will be added during checkout, depending on the destination and delivery method.

SHĀPU reserves the right to verify and adjust prices if an error is detected. If this happens, we’ll inform you so you can choose to confirm or cancel your order.

We aim to only list items that are in stock. However, on rare occasions, stock levels may be inaccurate due to high demand or system errors. If you order an item that’s unavailable, we’ll contact you right away and either suggest an alternative, offer a partial shipment, or cancel your order if needed.

Just add the items you want to your cart and follow the checkout process. Once your order is confirmed and payment is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your order details.

We fill all online orders in the order that they are received. A third-party shipping agency picks up from our shop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.

We ship across Portugal and selected international locations.

Shipping within Portugal usually takes 1–3 business days. International shipping may vary.

Shipping costs are calculated based on your location and the size of the order. You’ll see the final cost at checkout. We do not cover customs fees or import duties for international orders, those are the customer’s responsibility.

All sales are final, both online and in-store, and we do not offer cash refunds.

That said, we’re happy to offer store credit or exchanges for unused items in new condition, either shipped or brought to the shop, within 14 days of purchase. Original packaging and proof of purchase (receipt) are required.

Items that are used, missing packaging, or without proof of purchase may still be eligible for partial credit, reach out to us at info@shapulisboa.com and we’ll do our best to help.

We stand by the quality of everything we sell, and while true defects are rare, we will absolutely replace any genuinely defective products.

Please inspect your package upon delivery. If it’s visibly damaged, note it on the delivery slip and contact us immediately. Take photos and email us at info@shapulisboa.com so we can sort it out as quickly as possible.

We accept major credit and debit cards. All payments are processed securely. SHĀPU uses SSL encryption to ensure safe transactions.

Yes, all items come with the warranty required by EU law.

Warranty does not cover:

Misuse, drops, or improper handling

Normal wear and tear

Unauthorized modifications or sharpening

Use outside the intended culinary purpose
